The last 48 hours have been nuts.
Once husband got the all clear from the drs, the phone call was made to W.A. boss to make a plan for our journey. That was Thursday.
We packed up our whole house and shoved most of it in our storage area, packed our bags and went to sleep at Oma and Opa’s (which is a lot closer to the airport than our house). After Little Boy refused to go to sleep in the cot, I ended up sleeping on a mattress on the floor with him kicking me in the head every now and then. Husband woke early Friday morning and caught the first flight to Brisbane, then to Mackay to do a check flight. We met up with him in Brisbane and flew to Darwin together.
Top 3 tips for flying with a toddler:
- Pray for a spare seat next to you
- Wiggles on portable DVD player (even better when you remember to charge the batteries)
- Snacks (my personal secret weapon is breastfeeding, but this can only last so long!)
We popped by Country Target to look for a cot for Little Boy and saw the Boss’s beautiful wife who greeted me with “Welcome home!” and it felt so nice to be back.
We had lunch at our favourite (aka the only) cafe, went for a swim and had a big nap. We ate a lovely dinner at the Country Club and slept very well last night.
Husband has done another check flight this morning and we should know what we’re doing tomorrow. Hope you’re all having a lovely Sunday x
